Revival 52: CONS Wants to Teach You “Our Secret Language”
It’s not often that a track with a run-time of just over two minutes, can manage to wholly impress a listener but Revival Recordings band, CONS, has explored that possibility and come out victorious! Fans of the bands’ work, who have purchased a physical copy of their debut EP, Slowhealer, may recognize “Our Secret Language” as a physical exclusive bonus track. The track follows the release of “I Woke Up Like This,” which was released earlier this year and also featured as a physical exclusive bonus track. This song comes in swinging, tears through the room and leaves it in shambles. The most remarkable thing about it is that, despite the fact that it’s so short, it manages to exemplify the talents of each member in spades.
Guitarist Jeremy Talley had this to say about the track:
“Our Secret Language was built around the opening riff. The rest fell in line pretty much chronologically. We like the controlled chaos and the energy throughout. Even though there are lot of things going on musically, the lyrical concept and vocal structure really kept the song from feeling as if it were meandering. This song was a blast to write and even more fun to play live.”
