BLACK LODGE UNVEIL NEW PERFORMANCE MUSIC VIDEO “THOUGHTS”
Black Lodge have premiered the music performance video for their song “Thoughts”, from the band’s forthcoming debut album. Watch the video for “Thoughts,” which captures the band in an intimate studio session with a cameo appearance by Carmen Electra.
Black Lodge recently wrapped up the recording for their debut album at Los Angeles recording studio, The Realm, where the band worked with producer Lee Miles, co-producer and engineer Matt Dougherty, and mixer Sean Beavan, to capture their sound for the debut album set for release in 2016. Jeordie White aka Twiggy Ramirez co-produced, co-wrote, and performs bass on the album’s acoustic track “XIII,” which is dedicated to the band’s late bassist Ventura XIII.
Founding member and guitarist of Black Lodge Johnny Royal recalls the long and sometimes painful road it took for this album to be made, which included the loss of the band’s bass player Ventura XIII in a tragic motorcycle accident. “There are no words to describe the loss of Ventura as a best friend and bandmate. The only way I could grieve him and move forward was to let my part of writing this album speak the unspeakable through the composition I contributed. During the writing process, I remembered something my friend Chris Goss said to me at Rancho De La Luna…’when you’re in the studio, there’s only enough room for one ego; the ego of the song.’ This album was about just that…killing the ego, serving the music, and as a band searching for something collectively cosmic and timeless.”
In celebration of the band’s latest release, Black Lodge are giving away a signed deluxe stretch canvas, illustrated by Marvel Comics artist Wayne Robinson. You can enter to win by sharing the “Thoughts,” performance video on Facebook or Twitter.
Black Lodge will be debuting material from their new album this Friday night at The Viper Room in Hollywood, at 10pm. Entry is free with RSVP which can be made here.
