No Cure Unleash “Parasite” Ahead of US Tour
Artist: No Cure
“Parasite (Two Shots)”
The irony isn’t lost on me—and probably not on you, or the band either—that Birmingham straight edge death metal/hardcore hybrid No Cure have a new song ominous titled “Parasite.” That, however, is where irony stops and intensity takes over. Rising stars of the underground heavy music scene No Cure are as primal and relentless as we’ve seen them throughout their new single, bringing a hellishly heavy and crushing approach to their riff-heavy, harshly metallic brand of hardcore that could make a quadriplegic mosh. Everything on “Parasite (Two Shots)” is a more Goliath, immense version of the high-energy and ruthless voracity No Cure have become known for—with percussion that oscillates between quick fills and pummeling kick drum and fretwork that slices skin with demonic intent as readily as it unleashes slams barbaric enough to turn organ and bone into a cadaveric pancake.
“Parasite (Two Shots)” is the next stepping No Cure’s evolution as they progress towards a more cohesive, punishing and focused sound. Building on the structure and precision of Cursed from Birth without sacrificing the primal fury of …For the Stainless Steel, the band’s latest effort is one to behold—not only in person, but as they set out on a nationwide tour imminently, supporting MyChildren MyBride alongside Mugshot, Extortionist and Yourspiritdies.
