The End of An Era: Introducing AVOID

Re-branding is a tricky business but sometimes, in the music industry, it becomes necessary. The reasons can be many but the intent is always the same: To stay true to who the band is and the message they want to get across with their art. Today, we’re proud to help introduce AVOID (formerly known as Avoid the Void) with the premiere of their music video for “End of an Era” shot by Kendall Johns (Dead Crown). Frontman, Benny Scholl, had this to say about their re-brand:
“Avoid the Void has been a band since my freshman year of High School. We had the time of our life, but now almost 5 years later, our outlook on the music industry, and even the style of music we like has changed. Becoming AVOID is our way of staying true to our roots, but evolving into an entity that can thrive in today’s competitive music scene. We are very excited to share this music video.”
He goes on to say: “End of an Era is a song about how toxic today’s world can be, and how easy it can be to succumb to the temptations of addiction. The song is written from two different sides of one person. One side being the person seeking help wanting to escape from all of the bad in the world, and the other tearing him down to basically think of himself as nothing give in to the horrible temptations around.”
The ink is still drying on their contract with 307 Artist Management and they’re partnering that with a Summer tour with Killing the Messenger and Redeem/Revive (Stay Sick Recordings). This is just the beginning so check out the video for “End of an Era” below!
