ABOUT: The Hollowed is a 3-piece Post-Hardcore/Rock band from The East Coast consisting of Vocalist and Bassist Jonathan Wolfe (ex- Falling In Reverse, Dayshell, & Current Guitarist of SLAVES), Guitarist Billy Barber (ex- At Skylines), and on guitar Cristian Thompson. “It’s time to bring passion and emotion back to hardcore music.” So says the arrestingly candid lead singer of The Hollowed, Jonathan Wolfe. Hailing from Hollywood, the band began life on the East Coast in 2008. Wolfe and his pack of musical desperadoes have since developed into a blistering combination of bleeding-edge stadium guitars with moments of sweet, if kinetic, lyrical bliss. For a band that dwells in the fallout of the post hardcore movement, The Hollowed is as utterly devoted to what is real in life as it is optimistic about what life can be. Without a doubt, The Hollowed are leading the charge on a mission to bring back significance and truth in music. Ever the impassioned and charismatic frontman, Jonathan Wolfe may look the angel/demon rock-n-rolla’ persona, but he shies away from any convention of what a lead singer is supposed to be. In the place of ego and gimmicks, Wolfe champions a truthful quest to bring what is heartfelt and meaningful to life through song. His words are full of bleeding honesty and exploration of the strife that is the common path of human existence, along with reassurance of hope for a better world. His voice is that of the hero, the visionary who leads the masses toward the light. Just as the Hollowed stands for an integrity of message, the songs on the record are as true as songs get. Their music deals with the tension of loyalty versus falling away, anger at the deceitful nature of humanity, and a rallying cry to hold true to conviction and stand for what is right. The piercingly captivating set of songs is as dynamic as it is united; One listen and the hearer is drawn into the compelling storytelling of the dramatic unfolding of life. It is not hard to see why The Hollowed is the fresh voice of the new hardcore movement. The Hollowed have signed with Maxtreme Records in Japan to release “So Far From Solitude” a special Japanese album release of their previous works coming out soon.
