Review: Judas Priest – Redeemer of Souls (Single)
Artist: Judas Priest
Album: Redeemer of Souls – Single
Rating: 8.5/10
Judas Priest have always known exactly what they were doing when writing a good heavy metal track. Of course, it should be no surprise that, even 6 years after releasing their last album, their new single “Redeemer of Souls” is wholly impressive. While this track doesn’t fully display the legendary Rob Halford’s vocal range, it definitely gives us an insight into how amazing his voice still sounds after over 30 years of doing this. “Redeemer of Souls” is a fiery heavy metal anthem that will get the blood pumping, your fists up and your head banging with no problems. Where would Halford stand, though, if not for the ax work provided by his brother/fellow Defender of the Faith, Richie Faulkner. The solos he provides in this track are enough to make you want to wear out the replay button, but that’s not all. In the 4 minutes that this track graces your ears, we hear some of the best collective work that the mighty Priest have put forth in years! While it’s not the perfect single, it’s definitely enough to give you a glimpse of the hellfire and brimstone that they shall bring forth with their new album of the same name, scheduled for release on July 15th here in the US via Epic Records! Check out the single below and, of course, if you like it buy it!
