If you’re into amazing hardcore bands that have infectious, powerful and moving lyrics than Know Your Strength is a band you need to familiarize yourself with. Hailing from somewhere upstate in New York, this 6-piece are masters of their respective arts. Vocally, I don’t think I’ve heard anything like what this band offers. The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Their newest offering “Memories” from their upcoming EP titled, “Uncovered From Within” is fast, heavy, in your face and all the while melodic and beautiful. How can this be possible, you may ask? Well, putting aside the technicalities of it all, the band definitely has proven that they know what they’re doing. If you’re looking for a track that you can lose your voice to, that will get you off of your feet and that will move your heart in a way that few before it has, “Memories” is the track you have been searching for. Vocalist, Sean Loucks delivers an impressive mix of angst and agression, reminiscent of Beau Bokan from Blessthefall. Mix that with drummer/clean singer John McArdle and of course, their guest vocalist, Bryce Kariger from That’s Outrageous and you have a recipe for something incredible. But what would this be without the driving guitar riffs and thumping bass lines? Any way it goes, when these guys get in a room together, magic happens and you’re sure to be more than impressed by the results. Look out for the boys in KYS this year because their reach is far and their aim is high and they won’t let anything stand in their path!
