The rap game is a business with a bad reputation. Yes, it’s thriving. But there is no artistry. No innovation. It’s all flashy clothes, drugged up whores, and no talent. There are some exceptions (Hopsin, Tyler the Creator, Eminem) but it’s not like it was back in the 90’s. Enter SOK. A young artist who wants to bring back the artistry and talent to a business plagued with bad music and even worse artists. With his album “Something Sinister”, he’s proven that there is potential to bring back the good rap from the days of Tupac and Biggie. The sound of this album is strange, but in the best way. The beats are out of here, and they are something to just unwind to. A purely instrumental record, this is a throwback to when it was about the art form, and not just making money. If you are in the mood for something different and something perfect, listen to Something Sinister. There is a sound here that needs to be heard to understand how amazing it is.
