Review – The Veer Union – Decade 2 Rock & Acoustic
Artist: The Veer Union
Album: Decade II: Rock & Acoustic
Rating: 9/10
The Veer Union are exploding onto the scene with their new album “Decade II: Rock & Acoustic”, and a tour to promote it. With powerful songs like “Embrace The Day” and “Save Yourself” to the recent rendering of a Linkin Park cover, “Numb” to remember Chester Bennington, and their cover of Faith No More’s, “Epic” – they have come out swinging! Please note that the First Half of this review will be Rock, and the second half will be Acoustic.
Decade II: Rock & Acoustic comes out of the gate with a an explosion in your eardrums and the melodic beats hit in the first track and new single “Living Not Alive” opening up to a rocking intro and making this track solid, as a song and as a opener.
“Man into Machine” is a rocking track for the middle end of the album. It flows with rocking vocals and solid drums – the track is a standout on the album.
The song “Last Regret” is solemn and haunting, while being melodic and delivers a hypnotic chorus while the drums are solid and Crispin’s vocals take it to the next level. “Save Yourself” was another track that brings with it an amazing intro with soft repeating synth beat and some well-timed riffs. Honestly trying to explain Crispin’s vocal range on this track would be equivalent to writing an unsolvable math problem, believe me he has a serious range. His vocals go from crooning vocals to screams and back again, effortlessly.
Finally in the Rock half, the song “Embrace The Day” is an powerful anthem on this album. It’s meant for an empowerment and lifts your emotions and makes you want to go out and kick ass, every day. The Veer Union are sending a message to the masses, and that message is: Only we ourselves can break the cycle of negativity and move forward towards a positive future.
On the Acoustic half of the album is led by theLinkin Park cover, “Numb” which was an awesome release by TVU. It was done in remembrance of a great influence of Chester Bennington on TVU’s Crispin Earl. It has compelling, emotive vocals. I can tell Crispin wanted this release to be able to touch everyone with not just his vocals – but the inspiration that Chester constantly carried with him that touched so many people. It’s a fitting tribute to his memory.

The acoustic side of Decade II is really a soulful approach and a great contrast to the more fierce and gnarly of the Rock side. The tracks, “Awaken” and “Living Not Alive” carry the same intensity being while being solemn and Crispin’s vocals are beyond amazing in this section of this album.
Overall, combined with a rocking half and a soulful while solemn delivery as a whole for Decade II, the album is well-rounded and influenced not only by Crispin Earl’s experience and emotions but also finds a relatable platform to convey to the masses. Decade II: Rock & Acoustic is slated for release August 31st, but don’t wait – pre-order your copy below!
