Top Albums of 2014
The following 10 albums made 2014 a spectacular year and as the end of the year nears these albums have captured my heart like no other. This year was a really good year for these bands that I have chosen. Most stayed in the top ten of the top 100 albums of the year, some stayed at the top for months. While others really left their mark on the music scene with a standout song or too. This year was awesome and I definitely can’t wait to see what 2015 holds! I hope you enjoy my list.
- .5: The Gray Chapter- Slipknot
I’ve been a huge fan of Slipknot for as long as I can remember. I was overly ecstatic about this album, I waited 6 years for this release! My favorite track from this album by far was “Goodbye”, which in my opinion was their tribute song to Paul( although this whole album was dedicated to him. - Black Widow- In This Moment
The ultimate show of a chick who loves to put you in a trance with her voice. This album is by far their best and I am normally not a fan of screaming. “Sex Metal Barbie” is by far my favorite track, Maria Brink is my favorite chick rocker by far. - White Noise- PVRIS
When I first heard them I was in such awe, The lead singers voice is beautiful. This band really stood out and their music is very melodic. I can’t wait to hear more from these guys! - Lazaretto- Jack White
It’s been 2 years since Jack White has released anything. This album has a bluesy/rap/rage against the machines feel to it. At first listening to the intro of “Lazaretto” it sounds really interesting. I really loved this album and Jack White, his voice is unlike anything I’ve ever heard. - Cavalier Youth- You Me At Six
These guys definitely stole my heart! This album was truly amazing, especially when I first heard “Room to Breathe”. These guys worked so hard to stand out this year and they definitely succeeded. - Sonic Highways- Foo Fighters
I grew up in the 90s and have always loved grunge music. This was the Foo Fighters best album by far and one of my favorites. Dave Grohl’s voice never ceases to amaze me. - Isolate and Medicate-Seether
Seether gets better and better with every new album they release. I chose this album because “Words as Weapons” hit close to home. It was by far my favorite track. - Modern Vintage- Sixx A.M.
Everyone can take something from this album rather you need love or you get high on the music. Nikki Sixx has found yet another prosperous musical group. - Supernova- Ray LaMontagne
I love listening to Ray LaMontagne’s voice, is so raspy and he has so much soul. I’ve been a fan for years and I’m always impressed with each and every album release. - Lullaby and…. The Ceaseless Roar- Robert Plant
If you enjoyed “Led Zepplin” than Robert Plant is definitely work checking out. His solo work has a really groovy beat to it.Hope You’ve enjoyed my list!
