Stvrdust Confront the Difficulty of Choosing Yourself with It Comes In Waves

Ethereal metalcore project, STVRDUST, has released their second single, “It Comes in Waves.” This track is a brutally beautiful take on grief, but not in the way you expect. It is about the grief experienced when doing the right thing for yourself, no matter how much it hurts. This song differs in many ways from the debut single, “Dreamscape.” For starters, this song feels a bit more atmospheric and fills a larger space musically because of its composition. Drew Carlson's voice cracks in parts, exposing the true emotion behind the track. Musically, the track shares similarities to “Dreamscape,” rooted deep within the essence of early 2000s metalcore. This track also has a very brief clean vocal section, which is the first we've heard from Carlson within this project. He does well at building a progression from a mid range to a higher register and holding an impossibly high note for the genre. Overall, this track does an incredible job conveying the message the emotion of the contained themes. Stay tuned for more in the near future!
